I need some 8MM ID X 2MM Thick o-rings for a breech seal.... does anyone know where i can get some?
If you can't find them or equivalent at local hardware or automotive parts store, you can find them here: http://www.mcmaster.com/
Just type in O-ring in the search box.

Web, not enuf information to comment on what you should use.webstien wrote:what would be the absolute best material to use for an o-ring for a breech seal?
edit: ALSO, i measured the hole that would need to be filled to be 8mm id X 2mm thickness but is that the size I should buy or should i buy a smaller, 7mm X 2mmID so that it fits tightly around the breech?
I'm guessing this is for a Talon?
if so you want 90 durometer Buna size 011 orings.
If not, tell us the exact application and more help will come.

Cool Web,webstien wrote:this is for a chinese b2 break barrel gun. Seals between the receiver and the breech.
on my B19/Quest 500 the oring is urethane but anything will work there provided th efit is correct.
Is the dimensions you gave from a measurement you made?
I highly recommend McMaster Carr as a source and the price is right from them.

Do you have a bearing and seal repair/parts store close?
They can fix you up as well. In my home town we have a good one, Commercial Bearing and they can get whatever I need in a day or two.
Prices are cheapest by 10s I find.

Hey Webstien,
Did you look in the "fasteners" section at CanTire? That's where all the nuts and bolts are found. Anyway, at our local CanTire store there is a large sliding rack with many bins full of: nuts, bolts, washers, and o-rings. I walked by the rack many times and one day I had lots of time to slide them back and forth and was surprised at what was in the bins. They even have the small allen head screws for scope rings. Have a look and see if your CanTire has the same racks. The o-rings are both Metric and Standard.
HTH,
Todd
