I say beeman 1040 myne's is right at 500fps at -2 celcius. Crapy-tire sells them stock or with a muzzel break and scope. I bought the stock version because i have a 4x32 weaver scope, but the front site realy sucks so my advise is to get the scope combo.

Hi Richard,

So ..... you want simply THE BEST, if money is no object then get the HW100T .22 detuned 500fps. IT'S THE BEST OF THE BEST ....

If you talk to Scott Illingworth he might be able to "special order" a 500fps version of this rifle from Steyr.

The .22 caliber Weihrauch HW30S and all the detuned Weihrauch air rifles are all great choices.

I dont think fallen36 had a 2300cad$ rifle in mind I think he wanted something non FAC that he could use to hunt, and that was in a general price range of the average starting shooter.

Ahhh... so maybe it should have read something like:
"Hi guys with your vast knowledge , what is the best rifle under 500 fps, for under $XXX, and were can it be bought."
