Will it break down synthetic seals? (are there any detergents in it)

edit:

The part that scares me is "penetrant". Doesn't penetrant mean detergent?

Would this be a replacement for silicone compression chamber oil?

Might smell nice upon detonation

#3 Post by RossB »

From the MSDS on the www.gunk.com website I note:
5-20% Butoxyethanol
5-15% Naptha (lighter fluid)
40-60% Natural Methyl Ester (possibly canola or castor oil)
10-30% Soybean Oil
After the Butoxyethanol and Naptha boil off in the pan, one could fry foods or pop popcorn in it.
The Naptha will probably violently detonate in the chamber of a springer but the smoke might smell good due to the canola and sybean oil content.

MSDS say Flammable

#4 Post by RossB »

Liquid Wrench Foaming Penetrant and Lubricant L4 is rated Class 1 Flammable on the Material Safety Data Sheet.
Instructions for fighting the fire when it burns are outlined in the MSDS at www.gunk.com/msds/L412_6.PDF.
Material Safety Data Sheets are, by law, accurate descriptions of ingredients and health and safety hazards.
