Recommendations wanted

#1 Post by DoctorFrankengun »

I am thinking of getting a PAL rated airgun, (KB is being a bad influence on me  )something in the 700 to 1000 fps range.
What would you fellows recommend as an allround good gun that can be used for both hunting and target shooting?
Looking for something in the $500.00 range and I don't want a break barrel.

TIA.

What kind of rifle power plant do you prefer? Spring, CO2 or PCP? Also what caliber? .177 or .22?

You can't go wrong with a high quality Weihrauch 97k or 77, if you don't want a break barrel. These two are more of a field target guns and they are fairly heavy. A 95 is more of a hunter with less weight and easier to load, but it is a break barrel.

Skip the pump-up for high power airgun. Pumping after every shot gets old really quick.

I vote for an R9. Lots of aftermarket springs and stocks you can put on or in it.

Hey I had the same requirements and bought the HW97k. It was definately a good choice. Be prepared to clean and do a lube tune before using it though. It is packed with lots of grease to protect it from the factory to the consumer.
