dovetail weaver rail

#1 Post by tank »

So do most air guns have dovetail rails for scope mounts and dovetails are 3/8" or 11mm and the weaver rail is 7/8"(do some are guns use weaver rails?). Are there other standards. Would any dovetail mount work on my HW45 pistol? Does the HW30 and HW50 also have the same scope rails?(I plan to buy one soon).

Most airgun dovetails seem to be 11mm but there are exceptions.
Some of the old HW35 rifles had wider dovetails.
The CZ 630/631 has a 13.25mm dovetail.
Some of the BSA airguns have wider dovetails (14mm).
The HW45 has a 12mm dovetail.
The HW30 and HW50 have 11mm dovetails.
The current production Diana and Weihrauch rifles have 11mm dovetails.

My HW45 Review mentions mounts that will work on this oddball 12mm dovetail. http://my.tbaytel.net/coopers
