I'M GETTING A CHRONY!!!!!!!!!

#1 Post by ABshooter »

Yahooo!!! My dad found a local deal. It's a slightly (really slightly, it hardly looks used :D ) used Gamma Master Chrony, and I'm very happy!!! I will be able to find the speed of my 2240, and calculate the fpe, and all sorts of cool stuff!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I am the chrony website (chrony.ca) learning how to use it.

The best part is: I'm only paying 75 bucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M HAPPY!!! HAPPY!!!! HAPPY!!!! Sorry guys but this is really cool.... :D :D :D :D :D

Hey good for you,I'm new to this airgun thing so how exactly do you use a chrony?Do you just set it up and when your pellett shoots past it ,it registers the speed ?How far from your gun do you set up the chrony?I would imagine the further down lane of your gun the lower fps your going to register.Just wondering. :)

I actually don't know how to work it myself, but I can probably figure it out from the info on the site, and if I can't, I'll ask for help here. But yes, you have the general idea, shoot a pellet past, and it tells you on a little screen how fast the shot went.

Sweet Abshooter. Now no more guess work. I found it kind of funny when i finally got my chrony. Realizing that my guesstimation was off by a few hundred fps.

Oh, I forgot to mention that it doesn't have the printer, but who cares? To the guys who own a gamma chrony, or a other master chrony, what buttons do you press before you shoot? I don't really care about saving strings in the memory, but how do you work yours?

Useing a chrony is easy ....good incandescent lighting ..you can use night lights as mentioned in another thread .
turn it on ( Duh ) ..PUT A PELLET TRAP BEHIND IT ...and Shoot ..
Now here is the hard part ...the screen you see flashing DON'T SHOOT IT EASY TO DO in the passion of the moment .It helps if you use a tripod to secure the chrony ..and do so a bit lower ..and out of the way.
Too many chronys get shot !! some may survive one or two attempts !!

One other comment I would like to make ...guns tend to shoot really fast
till you get a chrony ...then reality sets in .Thats ok now you are dealing with reality and can tell if any tune or maintenance made a significant differance ..and if the guns are shooting normally .
You will hear people that have detuned sub 500fps guns that claim they shoot 630 and fastdeers that do 10fpe and all kinds of claims that people swear by ..always remember that guns shoot faster when you have no chrony .
