Need a better method to hold a bottle to my QB-78

#1 Post by airgunfun »

Normally, I use a couple of electrical ties to hold the bottle in place, otherwise the bottle easily slips from it's holder. The problem is that using ties makes the gun look very 'ghettoish'. Need some ideas on how to hold the bottle in place and make it look decent and functional?

Perhaps a holder from a fire extinguisher wall mount would work.

I requested cooper t to send me 2 holders to hold one bottle and it should stay very well. That was for my 2250.

The problem is that the bottle is heavy and fairly slippery. I wonder if two brackets would make a difference? The previous owner of the bulk set-up had the bottle wrapped with duct tape so the bracket would hold.....absolutely fugly.

I still like the idea of the extinguisher bracket....

yes, two brackets would make a big different.

the extinguisher bracket is good idea too, I had looked into it while back ago but I had to buy the whole kit with the bottle too at CT.

next I would like to try out this ... with 4oz bottle from Mac1.

One thing that you may want to look at is in the automotive section at wally world they have seatbelt covers. These cover are made out of heavy stretch neopreme with a velcro fastener. Your bottle looks like a 9oz it should fit and hold it securly. The neopreme may even provide some warmth on cooler days.

It's actually a 12oz. bottle and the bottle has a diameter of 2.5".
