Does this make sense?

This is the place to talk about everything airgun related including air rifles, air pistols, pellet guns, pcp airguns and more.

what i did was i made up the shot holding thing out of paper, so the steel BB's do not wrek the rifling, and i put these little rubber washer things my dad had in one of his shop drawrs. they are about 2mm thik x 5.5mm wide

this set up seems to work very well out to 15 yards.. as 15 yards is as long as my indoor shooting range is, ill do some more tests tomorrow.

i make 9mm barrels and have tried both .22balls and .177 balls . better to have a smooth bore for these .rifling will give a big spred . the .177 will cluster ok at 20feet . same with the .22 . .22 balls are wicked in a 9mm . 15 balls and all of them go almost 1/4 into pine .
the 9mm barrel can also use the plugs that the cr1100 shotgun uses . sucks to muzzel load but give a good efect .
with the .177 balls there is little need for wading ,but it will work better.
also putting extra balls in a .22 barrel work . ive shot 3 at a time and get 1''-2'' group at 30feet ,never tried more then 2 pellets ,they are not worth it .

So it's not just hypothetical, you are planning on doing it? Nothing wrong with that, but...
ABshooter wrote:Say I've got an airgun that will shoot a 14.3 gr pellet at 600 fps, (which I don't)
...does that also mean that you do have this 600fps gun which you said you don't have? There's nothing wrong with that either, I'm just wondering why you wouldn't ask about the actual gun?
I have it in the future... LOL

Hm, maybe I won't make an airshotgun... Maybe I'll just use the joint when I want to hunt flying birds... :D

awesome. i have these weird drinking straws that fit EXACTLY into my .22 barrel, well, you have to use a tiny bit of force but whatev. i just muzle load them, cause they are like an inch long, they wouldnt fit in the bolt. but yea, i put 4 BB's in the peice of straw and plug the ends with a bit of modeling clay. the awesome thing is, it useally stays togeather as one big slug moving through the air. i shot a squirrel with one yesterday, it was a chest shot at a paces 18 yards, the squirrel dropped INSTANTLY. 2bb' ripped up his lungs, 1bb went into his heart, and the other one hit his neck. i have not tried it on moving birds yet, but to get a better "pattern" ill probly stick to your kleenex idea.

not kleenex, paper towels.. kleenex it to soft and will break apart far to easily giving a broad pattern that could only be used at like 10 yards,
instead of maybe 15 or 20
