Well, it's a sweet gun, no question. I've killed a lot of little furry bastards with it thanks to its good balance of weight, power and accuracy. The unfortunate side is that an aftermarket breech is pretty much manditory to get really good performance. The stock one is craptacular.Jan wrote:How do you like your 2289? I should be getting one in the mail early next week.
I use my Xisico B3 ten times more though because I learned that I hate pumping.
I love the 2289 enough though that I'm planning to blend it with a 2240 so I can have all my 2289 goodness without the pain of pumping.
The stock is a one piece deal its held on by a little springloaded nub at the back, if you look closely you can see it sticking down from the back of the receiver just behind the stock and ahead of the breech screw. It slides around the back and sides of the grip frame but leaves the front exposed.Iagent wrote:Hey guns are always nice to look at. You have a nice variety there.
Question about the 2289. The stock seems to encase the grip frame. Is it a one piece, or does it come apart to fit over the frame?
Thanks,
Rick
But how does it slip over the alignment nubs? It seems like it would need to open up and clamp down over the frame. I guess I need to take my grip off of the 1377 and look at that.Exoce†wrote:The stock is a one piece deal its held on by a little springloaded nub at the back, if you look closely you can see it sticking down from the back of the receiver just behind the stock and ahead of the breech screw. Scoping the B3 was easy as it has scope rails built in, I bought the scope from Fitco http://www.futong.com/dir/index.html and it came with 3/8" rings. Basically the only problem I've had is keeping the scope from slipping because of the B3's impressive recoil. I used a dremel to cut a pocket in the rail for the rings to catch in, but others have drilled the rails and put a retaining screw in which might actually be the right way to do it.sirjeigo wrote:I like how you mounted scopes on both your backpacker and Xisico. Where did you find those scope clamps for each? The Xisico is one of my favorites too.
The backpacker was more difficult. The backpacker not having scope rails stock requires an aftermarket breech. I got mine from RJMachine but there are lots of other options. I already had the tasco scope on hand so I just bought the appropriate rings from fitco.
