Well I have read what some of you have been saying and are out of touch with the real world....I think that I would like to throw up.... sound like a bunch of kids.......Let me help you a little....The U.S. has a little better buying power than Canada....Canada has 10% Of the purchasing power of the U.S...Yes there are 90% more people in the U.S. That means BETTER BUYING POWER....than Canada....What ever you buy in the U.S. is roughly DOUBLE when you buy it in Canada...You can buy a Diana 34 in the U.S. for $189.....D&L Sports who you all love sells it for $418 plus TAX....Diana 48 you can buy in the U.S. for under $300....it is $600 at D&L plus TAXES....Do you understand , when you bring a PAL gun from the U.S. what problems you have...It takes 6 weeks plus you have to get it registered before Canada Customs releases it....I have been there , done it....You guys are just running off at the mouth...You sound like you don't even know what day it is....Real Funny.....Most Airgunners think they know everything....Well it sounds to me you guys know DICK ALL ....My feed backs speak for me.....I really love all you guys....BUT listen to me because I am the oldest guy here with the most experience of everyone here....I have bought, sold and traded more Air Guns than all of you put together....Come on Guys and Gals ...Get with it....BE POSITIVE....WE ARE CANADIANS.....SUPPORT CANADA....Marvin....

A bit harsh there Marv but I gotta agree with supporting canadian business.

edit:
Just wondering why you are so angry though? You could have said the same thing without the insults.

Right but not old.

You are mostly correct, BUT, I suspect that you are not the oldest here.
I assume that you have heard about the passing of Big Dave Dees.
We will miss him.

Yes, a bit harsh but I also agree. I've got well over six grand invested in my hobby, and I'm not done, I don't expect I'll ever really be done. But most importantly I've kept all of my money in Canada. I'm no kid and I really don't care who is the oldest or who has the most airguns or any crap like that, I really just want to enjoy my hobby. That's really why I don't post here or anywhere very often anymore, it takes up to much valuable plinking and tinkering time. I am a proud Canadian!

David Dees

#6 Post by mrmarvin »

Yes I heard about David 's passing last Friday....Very sad as we were at most Gun Shows together for the last few years....and David had a lot of Air Guns for sale....I tried to get a little closer to him in the last year when I found out about his health problems....BUT I was older than David, and that makes it SADDER...A young man passing away.....Marvin....

Mr. Marvin,

I respect your age and knowledge but we should not all be painted with the same brush. At 42 years of age I'm far from a kid. We may have many "under 18 members" but we also have members who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Some of these members have been in the sport for many years, build airgun parts, and have spent great amounts of time refining airguns and developing shooting skills through tests and experiements. They are not all a "bunch of kids" or "idiots". I'm glad to say we have some experienced members who know how to be respectful and show a humble personality.

I support Canadian business and even go as far as advertising for many of our larger airgun dealers on my web site.

Yes, buying a PAL rated airgun from the USA can bring a huge headache, especially if the rifle happens to have a problem. Shipping problem rifles back and forth is not a fun adventure. If the rifle is replaced, rather than fixed, then you have more registration to do. You also have to de-register the old rifle. Last time I de-registered an air rifle (sold to American) I had to send proof of sale and customs info to a Federal office. Yep, it's better to buy in Canada.

BTW... The Weihrauch HW30S and HW45 are priced very reasonably in Canada. We get the HW30S for $261Cdn. In the USA the Beeman code for this rifle is R7 and the price is around $275USd. The Weihrauch HW45 is reasonably priced in Canada. We get it for $380Cdn. In the USA the Beeman code for this pistol is P1 and the price is $345USd. Some prices are good up here. :D

Hi ABshooter,

I don't see you as being an arrogant personality or a disrespectful problem. You cool for a youngster  .... if my opinion even matters.

I think we have a good bunch of guys here who generally show respect for one another. We don't seem to have lot of arguments or bashing going on and that makes this a comfortable place. Members seem to be able to share information and knowledge and also keep peace. Generally we seem to be supporting Canadian business and encouraging the legal practice of our sport. With so many persoanlities we are bound to have some sort of mild friction but things are working our quite well.

MrMarvin......Canadians supporting Canadians...This should be an obvious no brainer for those of us who make Canada their home....
I agree, we should all be positive supporters of one another's interests here at home firstly, before considerations are given to any other options.......

iam going to have to agree with MR Marvin on a good part of his letter the U.S prices mean nothing when you try and get stuff into canada, other then selling on here i also deal in the us and beyond..i have known marvin for almost 3 years now, i only yack on emails from time to time and at the shows with him. and we also have a friend in coman that taught me airsmithing and i can tell you guys that marvin knows his stuff and is a good man and should be listen to expecially when buying and selling airguns,i only hope i get to buy and sell as many airguns as marvin has and still does.. as for the know it all stuff, there are thoes that think they know it all. and some have been caught with there pants down there. i dont know it all. marvin does not know it all and neither does thoes that have been at it for 30 or 40 or 50 years. none of us do. i have only been at airsmithing it self now for about 3 years now i have the knowledge and creativity and experience of some one thats been at it for approx lets say for 10 years i have also suprised my mentor a number of times as well with what i can do ok, and i know i dont know it all either.
i know stuff you guys will never understand or agree with, every one has their opinions and we are all intitled to them.I also agree with marvin we need to support our canadian airgun business's, or we wont have them and when you guys need us one day we wont be here to sell to you or help you cause we simply wont be in business anymore..we are your local help centres and addication suppliers "airgun addication" and we will support you and help you in any way we can.i love airguns as much as you guys do and i like good prices as well but we have to make living and pay the bills just like everyone else and we cant do that if our fellow airgunners are buying from other countrys far to often to save 5.00 or 50.00 also are you going to get warranty acesss and support from the other countrys ,not to likely and if you do you have to ship the gun back to the states or where ever for warranty then try getting it back accross again its a hassel and some times you will lose the gun as well and its been known to happen.. alot of you do support me and iam happy for that and i hope you all continue as well, and you guys also feed from each other and from marvin, etc etc.. i even get stuff from marvin if he has something i like. the guy can get his hands on some really cool stuff and iam sure at our april gun show in sunridge marvin and i will both be in the show but iam sure if he has someting i like and if i got the money for it ill buy it from him ..

Mr. Marvin,
although i am clearly not as old as you, and therefor much more ignorant given your unassailable argument, i would like to offer some advice. when you begin a post with insults, the rest of your message...regardless of its pertinence, loses credibility. when you continue to jab at us (the air gunning community) with insults, we quit reading. i myself am from the states, and i took offense to that post. we're not kids, and we don't need help making decisions. next time, keep that in mind. but thanks for trying.
not too bad for a 23 year old university student, eh?
