Anyone know the formula to calculate the muzzle energy of a pellet using the pellet weight and fps?

basically, just use this:

Ke=(Mass*V^2)/2/7000/32.175
note: this only works for mass in grains and velocity in ft/s. it gives an answer in ft*lbs.

lol, i don't feel like explaining how i derived it at the moment...but if you really want i can do it later. it isn't very long...i just got out of class and i need a beer.
not too bad for a 23 year old university student, eh?

Energy = (velocity squared x weight)/450240

Energy in foot pounds
Velocity in fps
Weight in grains
