2289g

#1 Post by 1shot »

Hi Guys,

Just hopped over here from Canadiangunnutz and I'm re-discovering airguns after 15 years!

I'm a longtime centerfire shooter but newbie at north American airguns so pls don't burn me for asking the following..

Looking at buying a new 2289g, but I can't see a 3/8 dovetail or similar mounting point on which I could attach a red-dot or quality sighting system. The standard plastic sights look awful but reading what you guys are doing with these guns gets me very interested.. 8)

What would a reasonable five rd group be at 25 yards with the standard plastic sights, and then the same with modified valves/barrel/sights etc?

Any help or advice greatly apprieciated..
Cheers!

1Shot.

Welcome to the Canadian Airgun Forum...glad you found us. Be sure to tell your friends!!!

Adding a Crosman steel breech or an aftermarket steel breech is the key to success with the 2289.

Have a look here at this modded 2289 that's for sale..

Hi 1Shot, welcome to the forum ....

I hope you find some info here on 2289, I have one and all I've done is plug the bleed hole so it does 460 - 480fps at 10 pumps but I hardly use it since it's not too convinience pumping for every shot.
