Brake Cleaner?

Has anyone used brake cleaner to degrease their barrells?A couple of my friends say they use it on their glocks with good success.Just wondering ,if not what do you guys use that is airgun safe?

Brake cleaner is all I use for all my guns. It is easy to use and removes all grease/oil big thing is to remember to use a good oil afterwards.

Sure it's airgun safe...just don'et get any on the seals and be sure to get rid of the residue after cleaning.

I use brake cleaner all time for cleaing barrles and small metal only parts and pump tubes the stuff it is the bomb good stuff and well worth the 5.00 a can

I go through a case of case of CRC BrakeClean every two weeks as a degreaser. Spray on and blow off with compressed air, it will take grease, oil, solvent etc away with it. I use all types of seal and o-ring materials and I find that when used with compressed air I have never had a problem with any seal or o-ring material as the brakeclean evaporates too quickly to have a chance to do any damage. So if you happen to get some on just blow it off. If your worried about it why take the chance though. As airgunfun said just don't get it on the seals.
