What some northern shooters do when its cold outside

#1 Post by joe-nwt »

I have reposted this from another site at the request of Rob D.(username from other forum. Am just dabbling in air myself, my main goal is to get kids introduced to and interested in firearms.

Enjoy the read. :D
We do something for the kids (big and small) who don't play hockey. We set up an air-gun range.

Viola! The culmination of many, many hours of volunteer effort. You would not believe what this place looked like before we started. Even the outside door is in a new location.

We had our grand opening a couple weeks back. Here's our mayor knifing the ribbon!

We're open to the public mon-fri 6:30pm to 10:30pm(run by volunteers also). Weekend are reserveed for cadets, groups, etc. The rest of the time, club members can use it whenever they want.

Hey... That's not allowed. When cadets shoot they're supposed to wear "combats" they're not allowed to shoot in dress uniform....

Hey there Joe.... Welcome to the forum and Congratulation on the Grand Opening of a wonderful facility............
I was exposed to the world of air-guns as a child.....since then I have become a grandpa, wiser, and a better shot... ....Hope to see more of this happening around this great country of ours......The sport of shooting is as much challenging, as it is fun....Bravo to all the volunteers .......Enjoy!!!...

It's a standard 10m range. I wish other communities throughout Canada took that kind of initiative to promote shooting sports.

When I looked at the pictures, I naturally assumed it was in the USA!
Then after looking at them again, I noticed the little maple leaf of the Cadets' uniforms and thought wow, it must be in Canada, I'm impressed! THEN I noticed the big Canadian flag on the wall!

Very cool. Sniper you should convert the back of your shop into a range like this!

Hey Joe....did you plan to franchise this operation??? Now that you've done it once...setting up other facilities should be a snap!!!

My main question is which company supplies the liability insurance? I would like to set something like this up in Northern New Brunswick.
