Phonebook Power Test + Accuracy

#1 Post by P11 »

Hey, today I decided to test out my QB's (.22) power and accuracy. So I started off with a standard Yellowpages phonebook (dry) and began to test power at different distances. I also got target paper..different in sizes and also shot from different distances. Here are my results: (Please post your results too)

**This test was done without using ANY scope. Just stock sights.

5' feet = 259 pages : Test 1 (Wadcutters .22 *13.9grs*) - Measured by how far pages were broken
40' feet = 245 pages : Test 2 (Wadcutters .22 *13.9grs*) - Measured by how far pages were broken

----------------------------------

1.0 Inch" grouping at 40' feet : Test 1 *Stomach flat, using lunchbox as a stand*
1.15 Inch' grouping at 45' feet : Test 2 *Stomach flat, using lunchbox as a stand*

Will do another test once I get a scope.

Thanks, I'll probably get the scope sometime this week.

Mine with a scope hits the same hole over and over agian at 7 meters (thats how long my indoor shooting area is that I set up). As far as power, I'm very happy, lets say I mostly shoot 16.8 grain Ruko pellets and I won't post my chrony results.

I have not touched anything on the gun yet as far as modifications with the exception of a muzzle brake that I made for it last night.

Let me know how the muzzle brake alters its performance. :)

As far as velocity it still shoots exactly the same. Accuracy, I'd say at least at 7 meters its the same. I mean if you keep hitting the same hole over and over, how much better can it get? The muzzle brake did make the gun quite a bit more quiet though...At least from the shooters position.

How long is the muzzle brake?

I'm not sure, I'll have to measure it when I get home tonight.

Thats pretty powerful...however, I used a dry phonebook. I'll try wetting it and see what happens.

i got the impression that you were supposed to wet it because it simulates
flesh.

Don't make it yet!!! Just going to end up with a sloppy mess and accomplish perhaps even less. Wet newsprint is less sound than dry.
