Pellet Comparison

#1 Post by P11 »

Hey, I bought some pellets at Le Baron 2 days ago and I was wondering what is the difference between CopperHead Hyper Velocity .22 pellets and the Crosman Hunting Pellets in those small milk cartons. I also bought GAMO pellets .22 (Master Point) pellets and I was wondering which pellet would be better in terms of penetration..(the gamo or the hyper velocity copperhead)?

All pellets have different characteristic of penetration, you almost have to
try them out and that goes for accuracy too as well. In theory you can
calculate the impact ft.lbs, so basically the heavier the pellets the bigger
the impact would be but it doesn't mean it will penetrate better than the
lighter one because the there is a break point in velocity drop as the
havier pellet is used. Also the havier pellet will sustain the impact power
longer distance than the lighter one. Some guns like some type of pellets
better than the other ones.

Wow ... those Gamo is 16.2gr. ....... heavy ....
