50cal sniper finished

#1 Post by jezX »

so this is it . had a few changes to do but all is perfect now .
i decided to paint the wood ,i think it was best. i added a scope rizer since the scope seemd to low . and tweeked the valve a bit .
it will break the 250f/lbs mark and i still haven't put over 2200psi /150bar in it . still haven't counted how many shots off 1 fill , its over 15 .
if only it was semi auto.
soon as i get more time i'll get to finish up some more ,and maybe supply some other canadians with big b airguns.
still getting the plans drawn out ,

actually .. 600f/s with 323gr slug at .50'' . balls in 50cal are 180gr pure lead , they blast the back off unplaind 2x4 for fun
i had to rifle it , after i saw a slug sunk about 1'' in to a bord on it's side at 100feet . good for hunting but not for target .
the balls are not real tight but seem to shoot good , my slugs are tight . really tight . almost hard to push in .
the next couple i build will be tested as well ,just as smooth bore first ,then rifled if it will be used for slugs . i beleive balls shoot just as well with smooth bore , cleaner to .

just for the hell of it what does everyone think this would be worth ? ?

I can't give you a $$ figure but if if you figure in your time and supplies and pay yourself of course, what kind of figure to you come up with? I like the idea of the gun working as well as it does with lower pressure. I have access to tanks that fill to 2300psi max and I hunt alot so the energy is right up my alley! Keep us posted :D

The gun seems pretty cool, all right.

In terms of worth, like the other poster said, you have to consider the cost of your parts and stuff, so it's hard to say.

Maybe if you compare the gun to others that are available on the market, you'd have a better picture.

I'm interested, myself. It would be cool to blast some stuff with it.
