Recieved My Patriot

#1 Post by JayzDaMan »

Yes the wait is now over.I recieced my Patriot yesterday from D&L.(Walnut stock). What a brute of a gun!!Does it live up to my expectations?I don't know I have'nt shot it yet,but going on looks alone I think my HW rifles are still prettier! The blueing is very nice like most people have said, the walnut stock looks good but rather a dull finish to it.It really feels like a quality piece but I just don't think that it is up to the HW standard.Maybe when I get out and shoot it I will change my mind.I'll let you know. :D

Yes I agree the stock finish is not a high sheen but the bluing is superior to most airguns. Coupled with the fact no plastic is used and the fantastic consistant power it has, I think you will feel different, have fun shooting it. 8)

JayzDaMan: Are you glad you spent the little extra for the walnut stock?

I don't know the walnut stock is very nice(Nice grain),but I have never seen the beech stock so I really can't compare. The only thing I don't like about the stock is the dull finish, there is very little sheen to it.I might ask one of our members who are in the wood refinishing business if there is any kind of laquer or oil I can apply to the stock to give it a little more sheen.I will try shooting it this weekend and let everyone know if it really lives up to all the hype! :D

outers makes a wood finish called"stock finish" works great and you rub it dry when you put it on with a cloth...works great!.....and don,t forget to post a pic of your gun when you can!
cheers

i often use a product called lemon oil im sure you can get it from a hardware store or walmart i got mine from a guitar shop. it basically cleans the stock and helps to protect it from a bunch of other stuff. it also makes the stock look ALOT nicer
