finally broke a scope

#1 Post by Steeb »

Hi folks, just wanted to share my pain. My Fitco 2-7x32 target scope finally crapped out on me.
After having it on my slavia 630 for about 4 tins, 2 tins on a b21. And what finally did it in, was the 5 shots from a b20.
Ive always wondered what it was like to break a scope. What happens with mine is that after i take a shot, the image goes blurry. Readjusting the AO bell lets me refocus, but it happens all over again, after i shoot.
I figured putting it on my b5-10, that it should last or atleast hold the focus. But no cigar, its gone to scope hell, or heaven.
All in all i think i got my moneys worth on it.

Has anyone ever tried to take the objective bell off of an AO scope?
Ive tried cranking the bell off, but its not as easy as a non AO scope.
The sucker wont budge.

All of fitco's scopes are "shock proof". I e-mailed them and asked if they "would withstand the recoil of a magnum springer such as a Diana 54" and they said yes. I wonder if they actually realized how bad the recoil on a high powered springer can be... anyway they also said if any of their scopes did break from recoil it would be covered under the warranty (which I think is 3 years)

Steeb: does this scope really focus down to 7.5 yds? I want something I can use at 10m, lots of their models don't focus so well at that range. Not for a springer. :D Any other reason you think I might want a different model, it's for a 2250 so 3-4X max is fine for me. Thanks.
