my opnion on the 1008 pistol is this ,kits accurat i give it a 9 the co2 usage 9 power ouput 7 but hey its not a power gun..quailty of build 3 its got problems man the latch system for the loader has habbit of breaking and or letting go while fireing the auctuatro the controls the clip rotation goes on them often as well the indexter is very brittle plastic even on the c40 so both guns have and index finger problem poor design there expecially the C40 its a great gun in comparison but both have the same index problem break downs.. given the choice on the purchase id spend the extra 30 bucks or so and get the C40 over the 1008 any day of the week..the C40 does need extra attention on greasing up the trigger internals form tiem to time do that and the gun works great and no real hassles with it other the the index auctuator its like a little peice of metal the sits on a spring when it wears out you will know cause your pellets will skip shots the index finger is not held in very well but hey the c40 is still my choice over the 1008 any day.....

I had mine for more then 3 years and 4500 shots and still working good.
It does jam if fired too rapidly with Wadcutter.
I am very gentle with it and shot slowly with it because the thing is plastic.
Here is more reviews if you did not look there allready:

The Crosman 1008 is all plastic, except for the barrel and valve. The pistol only weighs one pound and there is a lead weight inside to make it a pound.
I had a 1008 for a while and shot it quite a bit. Accuracy was reasonable for a plastic plinking pistol but velocity was not very high. The pistol will shoot as fast as the trigger can be pulled but velocity suffers with rapid firing. All my accuracy testing was done with a waiting period of 45 seconds to a minute between shots.
As was mentioned, the "hand" is plastic and wears with usage. This is the small part that indexes the cylinder on these pistols (same as the Cr357). You are doing well to get much over 5000 shots from this part but replacement is possible. The Umarex pistol clones have metal "hands" which likely last much longer.

For the price, the Crosman 1008 is not bad. Shoots just as well as any similar style repeater pistols, including the Umarex pistols. It is plasticky, and not as solid and well built as the more expensive pistols. You do get what you pay for.
The 1008 does have a nice scope rail for a red dot sight. Good accuracy potential, since the scope rail is on the barrel casing. Just need to epoxy the barrel solid to one side of the casing.
The Crosman 357 is another good choice if you are looking for something a bit more solid and shoots well, especially the 8" barrel version.
How about a modded 1008 with 10" section of 2100 barrel and a shroud? Average 400fps and twice as accurate.

Hi Kidstar 64,
did you know about all co2 airguns don't fonction good in cold temperature (they lose power), specialy if you were going to use it outside during our coming cold winter months ,plus they are noisy for use in your backyard.
But they are great for indoor basement shooting ,that is where i use mine.
Here is a must to read about co2 if you did not already:
