well you could carry an allen wrench with you and if you get stopped then simply tell the cop its a brake and then let him fire the gun with it on then take it off and then fire it and the noise should be approximatly the same, Most cops do know the difference a siliencer makes on a gun so iam not sure what else to tell you, some of my friends are cops and X cops they think the brakes cool, but you might get the odd one that might not think so, besides a siliencer usually screws on to and off the gun but i have seen a few that attach like the muzzle brakes ,, dont know what else to tell you on this one...

Hey Mikey, why don't you go in and see your local Firearms Officer, take the break if you've bought it already. Maybe they'll even write you out a little piece of paper, saying that they've inspected the item (at the least), or maybe even stating in their opinion that it's NOT a silencer. Seeing a FO is usually pretty easy...I've only visited three (including an OPP one) and all were really good-looking women!
I know what a silencer looks like, and it's really obvious that a break is NOT one. You'd think all police would be able to tell that right off, but maybe they don't get training in that because most would never have cause to use one and are not personally interested in firearm stuff beyond what they need to know for their job.
