I used JB marine weld. It takes 4-6 hrs to set. Mixed it and put it in a make shift syringe ( made out of 5/32 synflex tube and a finishing nail for a piston). let it sit for 20-30 min to let it thicken up a bit. I have 2 dremel bits that are the exact same size as the shaft for the valve stem. I gave them both a healthy coating of anti seize compound. Injected some JB weld in to the bottom of the cavity- ( enough to fill it to the bottom of the back hole). Gently inserted one lubed bit into the valve stem hole (making sure not to push any JB into the shaft). I then inserted the other lubed bit in through the top hole at the desired angle so it rested on top of the other bit. And finally injected the rest of the JB weld in through the Canadian bleed hole to fill in the rest of the cavity. I then let it sit over night (sleeplessly praying that the Jb weld would not stick through that anti seize compound). The 2 bits easily pulled out in the morning and it required very little grinding to make it complete.

here is a diagram of what it looked like.

I used anti seize but a good heavy grease or oil should work too.

You were pretty creative/brave attempting that. If I had a spare valve sitting around I would try it as well.

You mentioned that you think you're getting the same power with 5 pumps now as 10 pumps before??

Did you also happen to plug the bleed hole as well? That might account for the power increase.

Yes this post did start with the idea of filling in the area around the bleed hole. In my quest for good performance with less pumping on my 2289. Airsmith282 then made the sugggestion of filling in space inside the valve body.( less air volume in there means it will build pressure quicker)
Wrong Way backed this up and claimed he has done it and it works ( his suggestion of a plastic rod insert inside the valve spring is what I did).

I beleive this is the key mod which gives me the 5 pump to 10 pump comparison.

Filling in the area around the back of the valve was my idea. I don't know what difference it made. I figure though that with less volume of air in the valve, it will lose pressure quicker as it approaches the barrel. I just wanted to minimize the amount of volume lost between the valve and the barrel.

In comparrison though there is also very little improvement between 7-10 pumps, not my concern though because I want to pump less-not more.

CHEERS!
