Project-"X"...DONE!!!! and NEW grips for sale....p

Well....it's done. Bet ya never saw a 2240 that looks like this!

There is one more bracket to go under the scope mount to hold a laser, just waiting for the parts. The entire project was done with woodworking tools only (Aluminum machines very much like hardwood)

Also, the grips on this gun: I had enough stock left over to make 6 sets, 4 right handed and 2 left handed. Price is 40.00 + shipping finished, or $35 unfinished if anybody wants something different on their gun!

These will fit the 13XX and 22XX guns.

Actually...this was with some "mystery" pointed pellets I had in my drawer. It was averaging about 670 with 14.3 grainers (once I got the CO2 up to room temp), until I replaced the hammer spring to get it back to -500 FPS

Love it - well done. Now, a little info on the trigger linkage would help prevent "reinventing the wheel" should I decide to attempt something along the same lines. :D

Cheers - Gus

Thanks guys. Here's the list of mods:

2289 barrel, full shroud
Cooper-T bulk adapter, installed a bleeder valve
Airscource adapter silver soldered in place,
12G eliminator
Crosman steel breech
Valve work: Milled out the valve for max volume, Drilled, tapped, and filled in hole where valve stem enters with brass, re-drilled to accept 2289 valve stem with the derlin seal (much better flow), re-angled transfer port, cut threads, weak spring.
Transfer port mod done with really big holes cut with an end mill and a .17 HMR shell casing (approx. .21" inside dia) for the tube, barrel port opened up to the max and oval shaped.
Took the piercing pin from the old valve stem, and machined it to fit into a tiny hole I drilled into the end of the bolt to form an extended probe.
Drilled out both the end-cap and hammer to accept a larger diameter spring, and used a two stage compression spring for hit strength and duration.
The hard part: trigger linkage....I MIGHT just share this info if you ask nice :P . I asked a dozen guys how to do this, and not one would tell me....some kind of "Holy Grail" I guess.
3/8" thick aluminum barstock for the scope mount...I wanted to keep the scope mounted to the breech for max. accuracy
stock, grips...I THINK that's it. It's all pretty much a purple haze.
