After talking to some people at the Elmira show today, I've decided to get a SCUBA tank instead of the Hill pump for my HW100. I was told that all I need is the tank, since the HW100 comes with the adapter to connect the bottle to the "DIN" adapter on the tank.
But then someone else mentioned that there is a long and short version of the DIN adapter... so which kind should I ask for on the tank? I would take the adapter with me, but I want to go and get the tank tomorrow or later this week, so that I have it when the gun arrives.
Thanks

The longer adapter is for 300Bar bottles and the shorter version is for 232bar bottles. As far as I know the supplied charging adapter is for up to 232bar only. Both are identical other than the thread length on the 300bar is 2 threads longer than the 232bar. The gun cylinder should only be charged to 200bar regardless of your adapter!. You get roughly twice as many useable fills with a 12 bar 300bar bottle as opposed to a 232bar but not every dive shop has the correct gear to charge to 300bar so check before ordering.

I think you're right about the HW100 coming with the shorter 232bar adapter. If the only difference is that the 300bar has a longer threaded section, could the male 232bar adapter still screw into the female adapter on a 300bar tank? Or would I need to replace the 232bar adapter? If so, can I get the adapter at the dive shop?
What do you mean by "12 bar 300bar bottle"?

12bar should read 12litre There is a difference of about 1/8" on length. You can machine the adapter undercut longer or do as most people do and put a couple of 5/16" washers inside the dive bottle fitting. As you are charging to 200bar this causes no problems.

I did a little more research and now I see that the o-ring is at the end of the adapter, so it would have to go all the way in for it to seal. So that is what the 5/16" washers are for, to fill that little extra space between the back of the hole and the end of the adapter, right?
Are you SURE that it will still seal properly with the washers in there? I don't want to buy a 300bar tank tomorrow and then not be able to fill the gun when it arrives...
Thanks for the info

I have a 300bar bottle with a 7 thread DIN fitting and I have the two bright finish washers in to make up the gap. For a simple solution it seals really well, it doesn't leak at all.
The volume of the cylinder is .175 ltr or 175cc.
