2250XT OR 2250

#1 Post by treetopper »

I am just starting to get into the air gun rage and wanted some info on which crosman air rifle would be better for modifying.

Im really not sure where to start, but here goes. Iguess the main thing would be to change to a higher pressure tank to bring up the fps.Ilike the look of the tank to be in the stock and the XT has the bottle attachment already right above the stock so it would seem easy enough to add some fittings to link a hose to a bottle in the stock but would it add more fps.

Another question i have is do i need a regulator or a Boss valve. which would be cheaper and easier to modify myself but keeping good accuracy and increasing the velocity 50fps.

I guess the first question to ask is: do you live in the U.S.? If not, do you know somebody who sells the 2250(XT) in Canada? I haven't noticed anybody online selling them here, but wouldn't mind knowing. It would be PAL rated most likely.

If you live in Canada, then you can of course make a 2250, but I don't believe you can get the parts to make an XT here, nor will Crosman in the US sell them directly to you...need an intermediary.

Anyway, I can't answer your questions, but there's somebody here who has a cool bulked 2250 who could probably help you (his name escapes me). I made a 2250, and am quite impressed by it "stock", for such a small light gun.

OK, welcome, and you're all set then. You possibly didn't know 2250's aren't sold here, at least in stores and anywhere else that I know of...

There's a pic of Randy's bulked 2250 in this thread, the one I was thinking of. I think he calls it a 2240, but looks like it is a 2250 to me without the stock, but probably started as a 2240 since that's what we can buy here. As you can see, unlike the XT, it's fed at the front, this seems a more popular mod based on the other pics I've seen.
