My Walther CP99 is going back home to the mothership

#1 Post by airgunfun »

My poor CP99 is headed back home to the mothership for a warranty repair/replacement...note the fractured frame behind the slide release. Seems afterall, that the frame is not so readily available...it has to be sourced from the good folks over at Umarex in the fatherland. Thankfully, the pistol is covered by a one year warranty.

I am hoping that Crosman will see their way clear to simply replace the pistol under warranty than wait for the part(s). Has anyone here put anything for warranty repair through the Crosman Depot in Peterborough...what's the usual turn around time if they're not waiting on parts?

Well...holy smokes!!!!!

I received a brand new Walther CP99MG in the mail today....absolutely fast!!!! Kudos to Crosman Canada for a job well done!!! I sent it out last Thursday and received the new one on the following Tuesday...a holiday weekend in between I might add.

How did it brake? I mean if the gun was under a year old than it probably hasn’t seen that much use (relatively)

did you drop it? :-$

Nope, didn't drop it....that I know of anyways... I guess it's just one of those things. I searched everywhere if anyone else with a CP99 or CP Sport had the same problem but I couldn't find anything...which is good I guess.

Probably had a thousand pellets through it.

Crosman didn't offer any explanation....a brand new CP99 was good enough for me.

Question.....what is the difference between a cp99 and a cp sport?

The CP99 is the big brother to the Sport. The CP99 has a metal slide and offers a single & double action trigger, while the Sport is double-action only (you can't cock before shooting). Also, the CP99 has an adjustable backstrap on the grip for better hand comfort.

I have found that the Umarex air walther lasts better than the actual Walther P22 itself.
