2240 Muzzle Brake?

#1 Post by Leadchucker »

I would like to get a muzzle brake for my Crosman 2240. I just ordered the breech kit and would to add a brake, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Something doesn't make any sense here, perhaps you meant:

Our very own Metalmuncher can make one up for you...I think he'll be back next week, he posted one of his brakes lately.

Otherwise, Tim Wilson at Custom Brakz will do the job for you plus some others that frequent the Crosman Forum.

How much were you looking to spend?

Also, once in awhile you see them on eBay.

Yeah, realized my mistake just after I sent it. I meant Muzzle Break. Thanks for the image though thought that was funny. How much reduction in noice can I expect to get from a muzzle break? Thanks for the responses.

you can use Avanti Muzzle Brake without any modification right out of the box, also good thing that it has front sight on top of it too from D&L. The Noise reduction I guess about 30% if I'm not exaggerated.

Send me a drawing or a photo of what you want it to look like. I will get back to you.

Here is a link to a simple (and FREE :D ) CAD program,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

http://www.cadstd.com/

It only takes a couple of minutes to download the free "CADSTD Lite". With this program drawings can be sent back and forth between anyone that has it installed. Very handy.

I'm not sure how much he's going to charge me yet but I got a month to play with it, I saw there is a little price tag on the box says 99.95, which is actually cheaper than getting crosman peep sight which about the same thing but 135 bucks and no muzzle brake.

This one reduces alot more noise:

I don't need anything too fancy, the aluminum one that sniper posted looks good to me. Basic drilled vents or cut vents, plain aluminum or stainless steel would be good.

yup, that one is nice and simple, it cuts back the noise quite a bit, since that one is mounted on fully mod from valve to barrel port with 24" barrel, it was like 35 bucks with 2 set screws mount at the bottom. It's 5" x 7/8" hard aircraft aluminum. it's almost a copy of :
