HW45 breech seal

#1 Post by treeliner »

First off, as this is my first post, a big hello from Vancouver Island to all members. Special thanks to everyone involved in setting this forum up - it's about time! My question is, can anyone tell me the size of the O-ring in the HW 45 breech? I seem to recall a review somewhere that said a standard automotive-type O-ring can be used. Thanks in advance.

It's a #009 nitrile o-ring (70 durometer). Try your local hydraulic supply shops or seal/gasket dealers.

I have a Weihrauch HW45 Review at http://my.tbaytel.net/coopers You might find something useful to read.

Treeliner , if you are an HW45 buff , print off a copy of Mr. Cooper's review .It is superb , much better than any factory type usermanual or magazine type review I've ever seen .

Thanks Chris. I don't know if I'm a "buff" or not but I do enjoy my HW 45. Since my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, I use a Tasco Red Dot and I made a buttstock(similar to the factory one) which keeps me in the black out to 20 yards. Great little plinker around camp! And you're right, Todd's in-depth reviews are awesome. I put in a JM spring and home-tuned my gun with excellent results thanks to Mr. Cooper!
Cheers, Doug
