2240 at CT

Anybody notice that the price of 2240 went up at CT. Lucky I bought 6 of them when they were at 79 bucks. I saw at Lebaron last week it was still at 79.95 if I'm not wrong.

has 2289 been discontinued ?, I don't see it at CR.com anymore and Lebaron which used to sell them for 99 bucks and is no longer in their catalog. I can imagine they probably won't last at CT too.

i bought a 2289 on thursday (at lebaron),

and the salesguy said that he will give me an unopened one, he said they just got a shipment from crosman. so i figure that they either have alot of them, or they are still making them.

anyways, the one i got shoots at 400fps with a 14.3gr cr pointed... i am pissed... anyways, i will write you guys up an article about it soon (came back from the cottage :-))

400 fps is not too out of the ordinary is it?

I know the sticker on the package says modified not to exceed 495 fps but I seem to recall that most out of the box are at best around 430...

try not to be too dismayed. plug up the ol' valve bleeder hole and give it an extended probe & maybe she will push 500...

I'd be cool with 500fps in my 2289 - thats probably 110 more than what my M2004 is getting.

but what do I know, I'm just a novice. Cheers ~

Just got a Crosman 2240 and am new to the airgun scene, but I paid $84,99 for it, even though it was advertised as $79,99 at my local Canadian Tire. I will be going there tomorrow to get a $10 refund (they give you $10 off of the product if the prices come up at the cash different than what they are advertised, at least here in Quebec they do).

Thanks for the welcome!

Actually, it has happened to me at Wal-Mart a few times, and if it's under $10, they give it to you for free, but over $10, they adjust the price and give you a $10 rebate.

So I went back there today, and the guy at the sports department was a big pr*ck and told me that since I had bought my pistol 2 1/2 days ago, that they couldn't give me the $10 refund, anyways, I argued with him for a few minutes, and ended up getting it for $69,99, they refunded me like $17 OFF of the original purchase (with the taxes). So I ended getting my 2240 for a pretty good price! ;) The extra money will go towards doing some basic mods...
