*jaw drop* - backpacker bleed hole filled

#1 Post by razpizdiay »

hey guys,

filled the bleed hole yesterday, checked the gun with my chrony today. wow, you have no idea how happy i am !!!

well, you are probably are waiting for results in number form, well here they are:

stock the gun shot at 400fps

same gun, with just the bleed hole covered, with 14.3gr crosmans did 461.1 469.5 463.8 !!!

i love this gun now !!! ~65fps increase !!! what was the point of detunning it, if when the hole is filled the gun shoots under 500fps? what velocities did you guys get after filling the bleed hole?

Yeah, if this thing shoots 465 fps with the bleed hole filled, indeed, what is the use of detuning it? Maybe their tests are done on a different platform. Brand new CO2 bottle, lighter pellets, etc...

I guess with lighter pellets, it could acheive results higher than 500 fps...

I think this whole 500 fps deal is bull$hit, IMHO.

Exactly, fps is a number thant indicates only one aspect of a gun/rifle... They should be smarter than that and include other information rather that just limiting it to fps.

In the UK they seem to be doing it properly when it comes to rating guns/rifles.

For rifles, it is set to 12 ft. lbs power limit
For guns, it is set to 6 ft. lbs limit

Would a limit such as this one enable us to get a wider variety of airguns legal in Canada?

Unfortunately, that rule will soon no longer apply :(

Nope, no bleed hole in the 2240. However, the transfer port is a bit narrow.

But back to the original question:

what fps gains have been reached by plugging the valve bleeder hole?

is approx 60-70 fps average?

whay other two EASY mods can be done to increase speed or accuracy at 10 pumps?

time for a new thread?
