airsource question

#1 Post by killercrow »

ive been thinking of getting some crosman airsource bottles to see if i can figure out a way to custom adapt one to my gun. can anyone tell me the thread measurements on them? also, do they pierce (open) the same way as a powerlet? and would copper tubing be sufficient under pressure of c02? i think thats it.

thanx.

I don't know about the thread size but they dont work like a powerlet, they have a valve like a paintball tank. They come with a adapter for paintball fittings so its the same threads as a paintball tank.

I guess all depends on what gun where to connect the hose, I would recommend some existing hose from paintball shop fittings that is already pre-made and usually you want the rating about 2500 psi.

alright cool, i went to wally world and picked up the one with the adapter. now just gotta hunt down the rest of the parts i need, like a recieving end for the paintball adapter and a hose. i was looking at a braided hose on another brass eagle gun and im pretty sure its the same as the co2 piercing part (whats that called anyhow? )
webstein, fyo the airsource bottles are not like a refillabe tank. they look just like a big powerlet with threads. even the included adapter doesnt retain pressure (at least i dont think so).
can anyone refer a decent canadian online paintball dealer? would be appreciated.

I deal quite a bit with www.badlandspaintball.com but never try them online yet, usually drop by there and pick it up. Most of my hoses are custom order length. The prices are not cheap. If you can some hydrolic or pressure fittings store may be get better pricing.

I hope that you will keep us informed as to how this build goes. There are lots of us who are interested but not so mechanically inclined!!

hey cod father, thanx for the encouragement! :D for sure though, i'll be keepin all you guys updated wether ya like it or not!
right now in at somewhat of a stand-still... i NEED a bigger co2 tank... at only 30 yards my grouping is vertical, due to rapid loss of co2... and im still pondering wether or not to enlarge the valve... i do that and i might get 10 shots out of a powerlet... if im lucky! but then, who knows what kinda power i might end up with?
oh, and just so you know, im kinda learning all this as i go... just dont be afraid to start cutting!!
anyhow... later.
