Making Bolt & Handle for CR Steel Receiver

#1 Post by sniper »

I thought I try this tonight, I've mentioned the idea before but never did one.
The result is actually not bad, the work is about 20 minutes from start to finish. Check it out .......
The pictures should be self explanatory:

Excellent idea, Sniper! Allows you to re-use the stock bolts and handle on metal breeches. Better than Crazy Glue. :P

thats what i did yesterday !

works perfectly, is really easy, but i wanted to go an extre step and to make the hole in the probe bigger, so actual handle shaft can go in (not the little thin piece) that made the probe to thin and it snapped... lol

by the way, does home depot have those small "head-less" screws? the one you have in the picture? which i think is the same as the one in the barrel band and the one in the steel breech (holding barrel) ?

thanks,

No, they don't I've looked for it, the only closes one you will get is the one from RC Hobby shop, they have one exactly matching the thread but the head is a big too tall but you can dremel it down NOT too much then it will fit perfectly. I suppose that you strip the 0.05" screw head from overtightening it. You can dremel the head to make it to fit with flat screw driver then it'll ok.

Hi JezX, thank you.

I was just talking to our member from BC about Lee Valley tools, about the lathe there. It's still in progress.

That's a cool job you did with the valve and yes, could do the same with QB, you're the first guy that thought of it, good job.

Here is your pic:

if the valve is shorter you could cut both sides off all the way back and , just leave the slot section for the spring and tightening . this would allow full air flow on both sides of the valve .
