Tasco scope

#1 Post by Jester »

I bought a Diana 54 today and it came with a Tasco 6-24x40mm scope.
I have been told by several people that these guns are notorious for wrecking scopes so I am worried that I am going to have problems.

Where can I find out about this scope and does anyone know if it will withstand the punishmeant?

Someone at the airgun show today said that there are only a few (expensive) scopes that would be ok for the high power Dianas.

Thanks

Diana 54 should be recoilles, unlike the 48 & 52. Perhaps it should be ok with any scope.

The Diana 54 is "recoiless" because the (entire) action slides on rails in the stock. Since the scope is still mounted on the action, from what I understand, it still endures the same amount of kick as on the Diana 48 or 52.

The RWS Model 54 is a heavy recoil gun. You must use a heavy recoil scope.
All scope tubes have 1" or 30mm diameters.

Maybe phone or e-mail Tasco to ask if the scope is airgun rated.

there is a bushnel sportsman nscope rated for airguns in lebaron, it may not be the best, but its only 84.99 with rings. 3-9x32. its also nice becase its paralax adjustment has more dividings than any rifle scope.

54 Scope

The Tasco , will shatter in time . It will not hold up on the 54 . I have 1.77 54 with custom tune on it . I have weaver v16 on it for long range , and Maccari 4X for short range .

Your safest bet , would be to buy the Bushnell legend .

I was going to go to the show, but Had a family tragedy . I was going to bring the 54

i have a cheep tasco 3-9-40 on my hatsan m60 with a heavy spring . and it is still good .my gun ... i beleave kicks more then any airgun on earth but the scope hold up . 6-24x is a hell of a scope to have on a springer . i'd get a cheap one and not chance breaking it. call tasco and see what they say . might even replace it if it gets f'd^
