When I asked about that #, he then shyed away a little bit - but here is the thread http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/m ... ster+-+how...
your thoughts?
You have numbers for the .20 cal - cronyed about 60fps less than the .177 - yes?

Hi Plink-Panther,
I just read the thread and I'll voice my thoughts/opinion.
My .177 HW40 produced around 2.7FPE.
JohnKT tested his .20 HW40 and it produced almost 3.0FPE.
With the same length barrel, as stated in Buster's posting, I think a .22 HW40 would produce around 3.10FPE to possibly 3.3FPE.
A wide .22 pellet often gives more energy output than a small .177 caliber.
Buster "corrected" his 395fps quote with 345fps but I'm not sure if this was a chronographed number or a guesstimate. He also said he used "light pellets". Let's assume he was using 11.9gr Hobbys. His energy rating would be 3.15FPE. I can believe that.... but I don't believe 395fps (4.12FPE).
HTH,
Todd
