Please recommend a reasonable scope from CT for my 2289

#1 Post by Plink-Panther »

My tasco reddot works fine but my eyes don't allow me to shoot past 25 yards very well. [I can do fine @29 m but why strain if I don;t have too?]

Should I stay away from that chrome $20 scope from CT or will it be 'good enough'?

suggestions please. But don't want to pay over $50.00.

Example: The Cr 4032 scope - $49. or 410S $20.

Cheers ~

The Bushnell 2-7x-20 at CT is pretty decent. It is compact and light. At low magnification you don't really need AO. The image is a bit small. It has a 'TV' wide image. LOL. I think it is around $35.
You might want to check out Walmart. The Daisy/Winchester 3-9X32 is also decent and cheap.
Fitco sells scope cheap too.

Thank ETA,

Per chance do you refer to the Bushnell Sportview .22 cal scope, a 3x-7x-40mm? Its $35.00...

That holds possibility...

I've got a nice little 4x20 Tasco that I'm not using right now 'cause the scope rail on my B4-2 sucks so bad.

$10 plus shipping and it's yours (got all the original packaging, too)

I find that the 3-7x20 at CT fits my 2289 perfectly with those Crosman 459MTC intermounts that so many people don't like..
I tried the Crosman 4x32 on it and it feels top heavy to me but it gives a clearer & bigger picture.

I don't have one of those. Seems like a good price. Don't forget to add a few dollars for rings. 40mm might be too big for a 2289.

I have quite a few Bushnell/BSA 3-7X20 on my 22XX guns. They are about the right size for a light gun like the 2289.

The scope on the gun at the top is a Xisico 4X32. You can see the relative size. 32mm maybe the biggest size I want on a 2289.

Fitcos r nice for the price. But for even more bang for the buck id say try and get a Xisico 4x32ao scope that Sunny had for sale. I think airbuddy or even airsmith have some for sale.
Or if u want an even better one, i say go to lebaron and get the 3-9x32ao bushnell.
.02 cents :P

Hey - educate me - do I need to buy rings for most scopes??

I have the 459 intermounts and need something light and perhaps not more than 9" if possible. Preferably integrated mounts...

Your prescriptions please [?]

[my tasco reddot has integrated mounts so I've never needed to buy rings]

Plink,

I use the 4x32mm Crosman for about $39.xx or was it 49.xx at Can.T. I have htat mounted on my Crosman 1077 and it has been good for 5 years without any issues in all four seasons. I have not unmounted that scope on any other gun even tho I own a few guns. The lighting is pretty good on the 32m vs the 15mm for about $18.xx. Sighting is quicker with the 32mm then the 15mm for me. I found it to be good for my needs. THo my next scope I'd like to get a cheap zoom scope able to work with springers that comes with rings. I am the same as you here. I prefer to get my scopes with rings so I don't have to put the scope on and level it. I've never done the leveling before and rather just have a scope able to work out of the box.

When I spoke with Mr. Sunny at the Elmira show (Fall 2005) he told me that when you're mounting the scope on rings you bought can be done by eye balling it to level but if the scope supports mil-dot then you need it to be perfectly level.

I don't recall ever seeing Daisy zoom scopes at our Wally's within 20-80km range from my house. Perhaps it's a regional thing?

Just my two pence.
