Safely Spring
Would anyone have a Crossman 2240 safety Spring ?
Or Know where I can get one ?
Or Know where I can get one ?
Re: Safely Spring
from the large bag of springs found at Princess Auto. Many other springs in the bag are useful in other Crosman applications.

Re: Safely Spring
The spring that pushes the flint in a Bic lighter, requires trimming for length, but is otherwise a suitable replacement. . . . Good Luck!abslayer wrote:. . . Or Know where I can get one ?

Re: Safely Spring
Pretty sure a lighter spring will work, almost positive I have done that in the past. What trigger group do you have? Is it the newer style with 3 screws on the cover? Haven't tried the spring in the newer style.
A tip for others to not lose the spring and ball. Never take the side cover off the trigger group while it is attached to the tube. Take the two trigger group screws out and remove the trigger group, then tip it over and remove spring and ball.

Glad it worked out, yeah these guys are super to deal with! I try to buy most things from them just cause how good they've treated me and are so fast to respond to an email. Good tip! I've lost one set already, bought another but haven't put it in cause I'm constantly taking this gun apart and afraid of losing it again.Woody wrote:Pretty sure a lighter spring will work, almost positive I have done that in the past. Re: Safely Spring
a lighter spring worked on the one I bought a couple years ago, also used a small nail and rounded the head and cut it shorter instead of the little ball. It's not as easy to lose that way because it tends to stay with the spring, and is easy to replace if it is lost.
