Torn between FX Streamline and AA S510 Superlight Carbine

I'm getting the itch to upgrade my pigeon sniping setup for the spring. I was all about getting the FX Streamline (synthetic) as soon as it landed in Canada, but now I'm undecided between that and the AA S510 Carbine Superlight. I'm set on .22, as that is working perfectly for me and my shots are about 60-70 yards and under (90% are under 50 yards). My use is mostly farm pigeon sniping, with a little target shooting and the odd squirrel, crow or bunny mixed in.

One factor that's got my a bit snagged between the two is that specs say the Streamline fills to 3,300 psi and the AA to 2,900 psi. I'm working from a 3,300psi scuba tank, so wondering if I'd barely be able to do more than 1 or 2 fills on the Streamline (which would certainly suck). My Gen1 Marauder feels like a club, but I've tuned it to work on a 2,200(ish) psi fill, and that means I get about 15-20 top ups form my scuba tank which is awesome (getting about 15-18 good shots per fill at +/- 840 fps with JSB 18.1's). Accuracy is great. Really, I wouldn't be pining for another rifle in the Marauder wasn't such a cumbersome beast.

My final decision will probably be made after seeing/handling each in person, but I thought I'd throw it out for you guys to chew and talk about pros/cons and most importantly any first hand experience (although I'm sure there is a lot more of that for the S510 than for the Streamline!).

The AA S510 as been around for while. Bugs have been worked out.



The FX Streamline is new to the market. FX seems to be having some QC problems as of late...

But it certainly as more interesting features (to me at least)
- Regulated
- Multi-step power adjuster
- Smooth-twist barrel... Kind of curious about them

Don't worry about having to fill the streamline to 3300psi. It has a regulator that is set around 2000psi so anything above that will give you a full power shot.

Beautiful gun that fx! Nice and light too, and with the regulator should be super consistent

I was going to get a Streamline and then got a 410 that I'm going to regulate. So apples to apples, don't need a Streamline.

I own several Fx's and they are all sweet, but so is the AA 410. Don't know why I waited so long to get one.

Next FX will be the Crown.

The FX Impact is an awesome rifle, by all accounts. But too rich for me, plus I actually prefer the more traditional look of the Streamline/S510.

Yes, that is a concern. IMHO, the non-shrouded barrel really detracts from the esthetics of the Streamline. The folks at AirgunSource.com are inquiring to see if it is possible to buy/add the shroud afterward. Here's a pic of the Canadian version...
