Crosman Premier Light 7.9 grains -1250/carton
Crosman Premier Light 7.9 grains -1250/carton
I read Pyramydair blog each day. BB pelletier (Tom Gaylord) found that this pellet gave great results in a rifle he reviewed today.
Reviews on the internet are plentiful for this domed pellet and some feel they are as good as JSBs which I use .
They are on Amazon.ca for $44 free ship within 2 months or Airgunsource $30 plus shipping.
Main complaint that they are dirty pellets
.
Any comments from users? Worth a try to see if these perform better than JSB in some guns? My calculations indicate these
are not less cost with shipping. Only online shopping from what I can see.

Pellets can be washed and carefully dried if the dirt is the issue (yep, crosmans are usually in some black greese or something?).

I shot a lot of those throughout the 90s (die #2 and #4). At that time they were King of the field target pellets. I found them very accurate in pretty much every airgun I had.... Diana 36, Diana 38, Diana 52, HW35, HW30S, HW40, HW75, IZH-61, Daisy 717, TAU-7, TAU-200, Webley Tempest, Webley Hurricane, Webley Nemesis. I went through 10 cartons before the bad lots started showing up. Crosman ran into some QC issues with undersized dies and the information went wild on the forums. Some pellets were so small that they would slip down a barrel after inserting. That was right about the time the JSBs entered the USA. McDougall Imports was already importing the JSBs into Canada. The JSBs kinda took over for a lot of years and I burned through about 6 or 8 sleeves with great satisfaction. (Side note-I think forum member KEN was part responsible for the JSBs starting in Canada).
Recently, Crosman has been making the CPLs with improved results. I read that the size was a bit fat at 4.54 to 4.55 but this works fine in many guns and some guys have been sizing them down to 4.52 with great results. I'm hoping that Crosman gets the size right soon and hits the 4.51-4.52 with a good die run. Possibly that has happened.

I would consider these for : HW40- S&W 686- Umarex M&P45- DW715 -and Crosman 760pump, Umarex NXG rifles all at 16 feet to 25 feet indoors.
What is the best wash/dry process? Thanks.

Go to dollarstore and buy a small steel strainer. Put pellets in strainer and wash with hot soapy water (dish soap). Rinse in hot water. Pour pellets out on old towel and roll pellets around to dry. Put pellets on disposable aluminum pie plate and put in oven at low temp to evaporate any remaining water. Lubricate pellets to slow down oxidation. Since you are not using a springer airgun, you can lightly lube with an oil. I use Slick 50 Lube One.ten-ring wrote:What is the best wash/dry process? Thanks.
With all that said, if you don't want to clean the pellets then you can just clean your barrel more often.

X2! I have four boxes I paid approx. $30 for each - free shipping - from amazon.ca. The occasional pellet bent out of shape, but otherwise pretty decent pellets for anything other than anal precision. Size and inconsistency has never been an issue for me. (Your gun may disagree).
