Weihrauch HW 45 Black Star

I work on archery range at the club by myself a lot and carry a .177 Crosman 1008 repeatair in a holster. Thinking of a Weihrauch HW 45 Black Star in .22 just for plinking or to scare off and unwanted pests while in the bush. I do not want to be attacked by a crow or anything. LOL Thinking of joining the big boys on the pistol range with it as well. Is this a good choice of a gun. I have lots of pistols for plinking on my indoor range but would like a no fuss, no muss and one that always hits its mark if I do my part. Would this pistol fit my bill before I shell out $700.? Is there a better choice for one? I want to be under 500FPS. CHEERS!

You also might consider the Webley Alecto/Zoraki HP-01.

It is a multi-pump pneumatic - and even though it requires 3 pumps for maximum pressure as a pneumatic it has NO springer recoil and can be adjusted to hit just under 500 fps on the 3 pumps.

Its a great pistol. Takes time and patience to learn how to shoot it, er.. how to hit your mark Once you find your hold, stick with it.
I use a 2x20 Weihruach scope some days and open sights on others. Loves Hobby's and likes Excite Plinking. Also had good runs with Superpoint Extra.
It is a steep price for brand new but you will not be let down by the quality. Found my Black Star .22 used, altho my standard HW45 was brand new.
I've read a lot of people not being able to get used to the recoil. By the sounds of your post, I think you would enjoy it. A lot.
No fuss, no muss, lots of practice.
The Alecto is a good runner up, but it's lacking the charisma of the Black Star.

X2 if you can find one. I converted mine to .25cal and with the valve fix can be pumped way past 3 times without damage.
(No cracked valve body worries) Mine will actually retain air! 2 full shoots without pumping, so I need stronger hammer springs.

Few different choices. Webley Alecto was my first choice and tried to buy the one out of trading post a few weeks ago. They are sold out everywhere and I am on the email list when they get stock in. Just ordered a 2240 to buy some time to find something hopefully a little cheaper.
