2200/1322 project
2200/1322 project
Started building my 2200/1322 pcp pumper. Modified the 2200 tube to fit the 1322 trigger frame. Still have to drill and tap into the side of the 1322 valve. I notched the back of the valve to be able to move it back over the back stop in the tube. I was so surprised after even doing that it only gives me an extra 7/8" air space from a stock 1322 tube! [emoji26]
These tubes have such a long track for the pump assembly it's unbelievable the difference between 1322 and 2200. I'm hoping that at least translates to a significantly easier pumping of the gun!
At first I was thinking, well why couldn't I have done this with the 760 tube, and left the back end of the tube stock (not cut an inch off) and moved everything back as I had with the 2200 tube, but of course it won't work because the front track on the 760 is so much shorter that any more length of the piston wouldn't allow air when bringing the piston back to get in to fill the valve. The 2200 is opposite, with too much air space open in the track when the piston is retracted. Shortening the valve won't work because then I won't be able to use the front trigger frame screw though I could use a hose clamp, tried that and seems to still move a little after awhile. I also have to have room for putting the fitting in the side of the valve. Lol! Lots of complaining and explaining to say I only gained 7/8" extra air volume!
Looking forward to trying it out as is, then tapping it and sticking my fitting with the 16g cartridge on as an auxiliary tank for extra shots.
Here is a picture of the two tubes side by side for reference so you can see what I mean [emoji4]

Here it is with the stock and barrel, still need to buy another steel breech.

Re: 2200/1322 project
The piston is from innovative machining, Ron is a member here, and did a great job making these for me, even gave me an extra besides the two I bought to see which size is most optimal in diameter for each tube. The 760 tube on my 760/1322 project was actually quite a bit bigger inside so the biggest diameter piston worked great in it while it would have been too big for this one. I've got the smallest diameter of the 3 in this one and it's working nicely. I extended the piston as you can see in the first picture with some 1/4" 20 threaded rod and some coupling nuts to strengthen it and prevent bending. It is so close to fitting another nut, but is just a little too tight with it in there and the small nuts taken out.

Here is a picture of how much excess tube track was cut out. A custom tube would give big gains even with same diameter tube!

Wow, guess I should have paid more attention to the millennium pumper posts on the GTA forum. I had read about Bob Sterne's original millennium pumper and was fascinated with it, but never saw the huge thread about the production guns intended for salethat were starting to be made. Have only got half way through the thread or so but sounds like it was an exciting project that maybe ultimately never got far off the ground? Anyone on the forum here buy one? Sounded like they should have been awesome guns!

Hmm, too bad how that millennium pumper project turned out for everyone involved including the guy who tried getting it going. If someone revived it in a more low cost version I'm sure even then people will be more cautious in there support after how that one went down, though it would be exciting to see someone make a success of a great quality pcp pumper that didn't cost an arm and a leg, but still be a powerful gun!

Re: 2200/1322 project
I was sad to see Mr Sterne never ever even got his gun to review. Would have been great to hear from a professional tuner such as he is, the potential of such a great pumper.

Wow I like that.
How much work was it to adapt the tube?

Re: 2200/1322 project
Actually hardly anything. I drilled a new transfer port hole just behind the original one, matching it up with a 1322 tube, measuring from the back. Then I had to file the step on the back of the valve to get the transfer port hole in the valve lined up, and then drilled a hole in the tube for the front grip frame screw. I used the grip frame attached at the back for reference where to drill. Other than that there was nothing needed! Sear slot works as is and the hammer slot is a little wide and open at the end but seems to be working fine.

Re: 2200/1322 project
I temporarily misplaced my hammer spring with spring guide on the back lol, so couldn't adjust it with the rva and so stuck a spring in there temporarily, but it is too light as it retains some air at 5 pumps and only shot at 415fps. Will do some proper testing soon I hope!

We need bigger pictures. J/K
Re: 2200/1322 project
lol! Sorry about that, I posted them with my phone, and they show up normal on there. I see now on the computer they are huge!
Not sure how i can fix them anymore, my apologies.

Hopefully here is some smaller versions of the pictures. My apologies again for the extra large ones! [emoji4]

Shooting 515 with 10 pumps, retaining air. Need to lighten valve spring and get heavier hammer spring, set up an ssg, go from there. Want to see what kind of efficiency and speed I get before I put the auxiliary tank on it. [emoji3]
