Not sure what you meant by manifold? Mine is a qb78 not a 79 so the front end is different. If you meant the repeating magazine on it, If you look on scopesandammo.com you'll see the same system, I just bought mine from the guy that makes them in Czech republic.

When I said manifold, I was speaking about your adapter that you used to attach both co2 cylinders etc.
Never see anything like that in all my reading/researching etc.
I am new to AR's etc.

Sorry I had to look up the definition of manifold, should have done that first, lol. Guess I'm not much of a mechanic! So, as I said earlier, my set up won't work on the 79 because I drilled into the front cap on the 78 and tapped it 1/8npt and put a tee fitting in and then a second tee so that I had enough 1/8npt ports to connect the two Asa valves and the foster fitting for filling. You'll be much better off with the 10ci bottle especially since it's coming with the drop down adapter. That'll be just great, and in the summer you can blast away with that nice stash of 90g cartridges!

OK Guys
I just run into a major problem, I was cleaning the storage dust off the 88-90 grams Co2 cylinders etc,
in the bottom of the box, I found 3 different adapters, all look the same for threads etc.
These adapters look like this,
http://www.walmart.com/ip/JT-90-Gram-Ta ... r/16541593

After everything was cleaned up,
I very slowly and carefully ATTEMPTED to thread on one of these adapters onto a cylinder,
the adapter screwed on about 1-1/2 threads or less and became very tight, etc.

I thought, I was starting to hit the inside piercing needle etc,
I removed the adapter and did some measuring for depth etc.

I still have over 6+ threads to even get close to the piercing needle,
I tried the first adapter on all 50+ cylinders, with the same results etc.

I used a black magic marker on the top of the cylinder,
to see if I was (in fact) touching the piercing needle,
there was NO marks on the top of the cylinders etc.

I tried all 3 adapters and got the same results on all cylinders etc,
about 1 to 1-1/2 turns maximum.

I got out the thread gauge and checked the threads on all the cylinders,
and found that the cylinder threads are NOT us standard thread dimensions etc,
on all brand names I have.

Are the threads on these Co2 cylinders an oddball size or metric???

Does anyone KNOW the thread size for these 88/90 gram cylinders???

I am confused at this time.

Tia,
Don

That adapter looks just like mine. What brand are your 90g cartridges? Mine is JT

I believe the threads on 88-90 gr. CO2 cylinders is Metric.... 16mm x 1.5mm.... 16mm is a whisker over 5/8", and 1.5mm pitch is just under 17 TPI....

I'm guessing your adapters are threaded 5/8"-18 NF.... No idea what that would fit....

Incidently, I found one source that listed the internal (water) volume of the 88-90 gr.CO2 cartridges as 115 cc.... and they were both the same volume.... That means they are a bit more than half the size of a 13 CI HPA tank, which is 213 cc....

If that is a jt adapter, or any adapter made for 88/90g cartridges, it should fit on those cartridges. Maybe try screwing it on a little further? Unless it really is binding like it's totally the wrong size. The 88 and 90g cartridges are supposed to have the same threads. It won't blow up if you get the threads stuck with the top pierced it'll just shoot the gas out and make everything really cold, lol.
Also if you want it to seal nicely put some silicon grease on the inside oring as well as the outside one. Otherwise it might leak on you.

Canadian tire has those adapters if for some reason yours are for something different. Seems strange they'd be in the box with the cartridges and not fit

Thanks Bob,
The threads on the adapter are .820x14 tpi,
the threads on the part of the cylinders are .620'' x and between 15 & 18" tpi,
and some of the cylinders are .610" x real close to 18 tpi??

I will buy a metric thread gauge, since I now have a metric AR etc.

The cc of these cyl would be real close to 6-7 oz ?,
and just under the 10 oz bottle?

I would have a selection of bottles that run from 6-7 to 10 oz, and 13 oz,
which should provide a variety of shot string results, I hope,
looking for around <50 rd results,
once I find the proper HPA psi and medium pellet weights, >14 thru 18 gr weights,
running around 750 thru 900 fps, if I can get the accuracy needed etc.

When I get the AR,
I'll use a short cylinder and then measure the thickness of the bottom,
to see how thick it is.

I would believe that these short cyl would be easy to hand pump, I hope.

Tia,
Don

The brand names for these cyl are JT, Brass Eagle and several that have no name,
except for the name of Hagen on the shorter cylinders etc.

This is all the info I can find.

JT is the same brand as mine and fits the adapter you referenced from the US Walmart site, which is the same adapter Canadian tire sells. So if those adapters are different somehow then get the one from Canadian tire, it'll definitely fit the jt co2 90g, as that is the co2 cartridge Canadian tire sells.

The 90g cartridge is only 3.175 oz, but the volume inside is around 7ci, so a little over half the size of the 13ci hpa bottles. The 10ci bottle you were looking at are wider (same width as the 13ci but shorter) than the 90g.

Thanks for the info, Guys

I have to buy some 22 cal pellets,
I just received the email and the AR will be here on the 13th. :D

What would be the best weights/types of pellets to break in this AR,
Lite, medium, or heavy?

I will be using Co2 to start off with etc.

Jsbs are usually good for accuracy. You pretty much have to buy a bunch of different kinds or some pellet samplers but beware the pellet it likes best on slow speed might be different than what it likes once you up the power[SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
