Made another bigger back trap

#1 Post by YepYep »

Used 5 bricks of the duct seals this time. A little bit bigger than the one before but still portable to move around in the house for indoor shootings ~ [emoji16][emoji16]

And I just found that I can put something, like an empty pop can, in between the duct tape and the duct seal to add some extra plinking fun ~ImageImageImageImage

I just use this with duct seal to keep the ping down. I got tired of home made ones falling apart. Always having to add more duct tape as you shoot. I don't use my rubber mulch one because of that reason. Should be good upto 200 FPE

Still going strong after 4 years. Never had to pick a pellet out just dump and go.

lol ~ I would like to clean the pellets out each time I finish using the target sticker ( make enough holes on it ) and change a new sticker.

Still a newbie in airgunning so can't help collecting the wasted pellets yet ~

Yeah , change target with new duct tape together. I change the things each time instead of adding...

Actually I have a steel trap coming with the Hatsan mod 25. But didn't use it so far...

large paper clip is the way to go. You can print off targets on plain paper and it's easy to hang. A lot cheaper than shoot and see.
I have some airguns.

nice trap! I am still using a cardboard box filled with old t shirts and although I would like something better it has held up very well for downstairs shooting even with my Diana 350 mag .177 shooting 10.65 gr. H&N Barracudas at 915 fps.

I used 11 full bricks to hold full sheets of 8 x 11 computer printed paper with a margin of error for my spring pellet pistols. Got 40 targets on one piece of paper so don't have to keep getting up and down out of my chair. I collect yard signs and use that wedged in tight to keep the duct seal in place. I glue paper target onto cardboard. Then the next couple I clip on cardboard stock paper targets in front till the cardboard is shot up and needs changed. I cut furnace doors for the backing on traps and for adding metal to all pellet traps I buy. that way I can shoot them as close as I want. No need to buy $80 bullet traps as I have no plans on shooting my .22 rimfires in the house. :)

It was on clearance price. 1/2 off and never have to worry about upgrading if I get a larger heavier hitting air rifle.

Ive been finding that wadcutters and sub 350 FPS airguns the pellets bounce off duct seal.

If I was a bit more rural I would put a bigger trap in the basement to test 9mm loads.

Yeah, the stopping power of the duct seal is awesome... I tested it after just bought and before making my traps, in 1 meter distance, I can only buried about half of the pellet into it with my pistol and the 22 pointed pellet from 10 pumps 1322 will still have a little skirt flash the duct seal brick...

I am thinking to add a box or bowl under the trap to collect the pellets fall from the trap after hitting the duct seal but can't drill into it...

I would certainly buy one if they go on for 1/2 price.

If it can make you feel any better. I'm not a newbie, and I still collect the spent pellets in a empty peanut butter jar... When there's enough, I throw them in the cast pot for some CF bullets

To get back on topic, I use these.
They're not that expensive. Jocelyn @ Cible Target Canada has them for +/- $40 along with targets

Thank you. Got the 14cm box and 500 - 5 ring targets coming. Got a 14cm pellet trap already but never have to much to shoot. LOL

Got above targets and target box. I am so impressed with everything. No loud ping with the spring back and the targets are excellent. Ordered the target and box trap and the next day I decided to buy 250 more targets. They reimbursed me money because they mailed it together. I am used to buying 100 targets for 20 dollars for my 14cm pellet traps. Here you get 250 for 12 dollars and they are better targets. New pellet trap I will line with duct seal cut in half (one bar) for a silent trap for my airsoft this summer at my trailer. That way I can recycle my 6mm and shoot em again. As the pellet trap has a tray for the pellets or in my case 6mm to drop down in. For a cheap trap it is well thought out. CHEERS!
