Greetings from Newmarket

#1 Post by SuperFab »

Hello fellow shooters!

I've been poking around on the airgun forums off and on from time to time. Time permitting, I enjoy tinkering on my Italian cars, bicycles and shotguns. I drive my Alfa and Lancia when the weather is nice, ride my bicycle(s) to try and keep fit and shoot skeet at the Uxbridge club. I've always enjoyed plinking at targets when the opportunity presents itself. I remember shooting my cousin's Diana 50 (I think it was a 50...the one under-lever one with the barrel tap) when I was a kid in the late 70s when we went to Italy. Ever since I've wanted to have a 'nifty' gun like that. I managed to buy a used Diana 75 not too long ago and really, really like it. I'd like to get a used Anshutz 250 or 380 or a FWB 300 as I like those match style machines. I am currently trying to get a Chinese Beeman to shoot again (for the kids) before I toss it in the garbage (I shouldn't have wasted the money in the first place)! It would be nice to find some like minded people in my area to connect with.

Regards,

Fabio

Hey Fabio, welcome to the CAF!

As for the Chinese Beemans, would you be looking into springers/pump/CO2?
Also how old are your kids, because I recently sold my XIsico B28 (RWS 350 Magnum copy) to help fund another air rifle and that thing was a tack driver. Very well built for a Chinese. Weight, size and recoil might be an issue if they are younger/small.
How much are you looking to spend?

Al,

I'm not interested in any Chinese made guns. The next one I buy will likely be a Diana or one of the match rifles I mentioned. My 'kids' are in their early 20s now and we still have fun plinking targets (except for the aforementioned CDN Tire Chinese Beeman not working). As for the cash-ola expenditure...I know that a new Diana 48 is around $500-ish...but we're always looking for a good deal, eh?
