38T

#1 Post by bobv »

The other day I took my 38T apart, repainted it ,reassembled it but when I put in a Co2 cartrige it leaks a lot and I have to really torque down the screw to make it stop... I lose a lot of Co2 it seems and I have tighten the screw so much it puts a dent in the cartrige base....is this normal. Is it a seal thing or did I reassemled the gun out of line. :?:

take the apart again, there is a little brass nut on the co2 inlet brass base the littel nut is part of the brass pipe any how make sure its tight but dont force the hell out of it also make sure surethe larger nuto on the brass rod where it attaches to the valve body also is tigh then reassemble and check again.. if the leak does not stop then replace the co2 inlet end seal and see if a new one solves the problem the part number is 38-128 if your gun has not been upgraded to the new pericing cap then you will also need part number...38A027...

only replace these parts if the leak is at the co2 inlet there is a seal in the pipe that attaches to the collor as well that you can tear if you twisted the collor at all its part number is 357A054 also use pellgun oil on all new seals when you replace them....

I just went and checked the 38T ,I cleaned with a Q Tip where the cartrige seats and installed the Co2 cartrige ,put on the grip ,held everything tight and screwed the bolt against the cartrige evenly and Voila ...no leak this time  I think maybe the other time I didn't have the grip on and maybe it got screwed in out off line and not sealing right..Seems OK now
thanks
