Quest 500

#1 Post by perch »

I'm seriously considering the Quest 500. I know it's a rebadged B19. Some of the reviews at ReviewCentre really slag this rifle for it's accuracy.

Does it have a problem with break-barrel lock-up consistency? I would like to use a scope but I wonder if this will prevent me from doing so.

Crosman Quest 500 is a great rifle. It can also be turned into the quest 1000 by ordering the Quest 1000 piston.

Also it does not have a problem with break barrel lock up consitency that I know of anyway. The accuracy over all is pretty good.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and I love it!
Shoots fine with the scope after dialing it in, but check the barrel pivot bolt as mine was loose when I got it. Other than that I think it's a great gun for the price. Find a hold position that works for you and stick with it and you should be able to pull off some nice tight groups.

is the barrel pivot bolt the thing the barrel turns on? and isnt it a screw?

Yep, it's the thing the barrel turns on. It's a bolt with a slotted head

If you need to tighten it I suggest removing it and putting some loctite on the threads and re-installing it.

well i have been noticing that on my quest, somtimes its harder to break it open, and somtimes its easier, but just a little difference. Just once and a while its harder to open. Would greasing or oiling the 2 lock things on it fix it? or is it normal?

a bit of moly grease would smooth that out nicely. I'm sure theres other things you could use to lube it too.
