Recommendations on Beginners Co2 target air pistol

#1 Post by Mad Hatter »

Hi everyone,

I am looking to get into air pistol shooting and I was wondering what is a good air pistol. I would prefer CO2 because the place I am thinking of joining has a tank setup for the members to use.

I was told to look into a rohm twinmaster in CO2.

my budget is about $500-$700.

I would also be willing to consider a secondhand pistol if I can find one.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks 8)

Hi Mad Hatter, welcome to the forum.

I think Rohm TwinMaster only come in PCP, I never seen one in CO2.
How about Tau Brno, it's CO2 and around 500 bucks range.

what they need is having a pneumatic 3000psi compressor setup. I'd like to get one too, for 1600 bucks it's a good investment. Currently I have a 50 lbs. CO2 setup. A PCP hand pump is not bad too, if you're thinking about the rohm twinmaster since the cylinder is not that big, it won't be much to pump it.

As recommended by Sniper, for an inexpensive CO2 target pistol, you can beat a TAU7 for its trigger and accuracy.
Another option would be a non-CO2, SSP, Baikal IZH46M.

I enjoyed the TAU-7 for 10m shooting. You can read my review at
http://my.tbaytel.net/~coopers@tbaytel.net/Tau7Review/

I have never tried the Twinmaster but have been tempted on the CO2 model.

The Baikal IZH-46M is avilable in Canada for around $400.

You seem to know about the high pressure compressors, any idea where I can get prices on models? I am considering picking one up for PCP, and Paintball, but so far have had no luck finding a reliable source.

drulov condor

I will soon buy a drulov DU-10 condor pistol, about 500$CAD, 5 shots semiauto, comes with every things you need to bulk fill.

sniper:
the Twinmaster Trainer uses 12gr CO2, 8 shots. but the twinmaster is just a revolver with dual action trigger(unless you cock the gun each shot) unlike the condor which is a real semiauto with a very light single action trigger.

there are some links:

I can unconditionally recommend the tau-7 pistol. I've just recently purchased one made in 1989, and it shoots like a dream. I was apprehensive about both the age of the pistol and the fact it is CO2. But I am SO glad I bought it. I feel like a golden god shooting this pistol.

I just can't say enough good things about it.
