A man said to his wife “It’s your birthday soon, Darling. What would you like as a present? A new car? A foreign holiday?”

“Actually” she replied, “I’d like a divorce”.

“Oh” he said, “I wasn’t thinking of spending that much!”

Two years before he’d asked her the same question. She replied, “Well, I always liked the plot in the cemetery near to the big oak tree so I’d get some shade after I died”.
So he thought “Odd!” but bought it for her.
Next year, he hadn’t bought her anything, so she harangued him.
He replied, “Well you haven’t bloody well used the present I bought for you last year yet!”

Indeed - that could be a LOT of money.

My wife asked me what I was going to do today.
I said "nothing".
She said "that's what you did yesterday"
