Artemis M11 reseal help?

#1 Post by Dukemeister »

My Artemis M11 has a slow leak.
It leaks out from a full fill at 3000 psi to nothing over about 3 weeks. Any likely suspects, or is it just a matter of tear apart and lube clean replace seals?

Ack, that's my first line of defence. I'm also wondering about the "bleed screw" seal. Mybe I'll get some snoop in there, and also the LP gauge.

Could be the degas screw or (as was in my case) the regulator gauge. Try giving it a bit more tighten and it may fix it, if it doesn't probably the gauge itself. Found mine by filling and laying in water in tub.

My muzzle balloon inflated a little bit, so I suspect it's the poppet seal. But i will tear down and clean her up. It's a nice rifle, just needs some TLC.

I have dissembled the poppet, cleaned and lubed it and reassembled. Of course it's holding air... but I'll have to put it away and come back in a month or so to see if I fixed the slow leak. Thanks for advice and input.

Well I didn't need a month. Good news is the muzzle balloon no longer inflated, nothing, nada. But pressure had dropped from 200 bar to 150 bar since I inflated it, like 3 days ago. So I went snooping (BTW Snoop is a commercial product for finding leaks is pneumatic lines and fittings, but I just use dish soap in water). It was easy to find the leak and I have now replaced the bad o-ring and it's no longer leaking at the regulator joint. :D :drinkers:

I just pulled out my M11, it's been at the back of the cabinet for nearly a year. I put it away with 200 bar in it after fixing the leak last year. It still has 200 bar in it! Yay....
So it goes to show you, a properly sealed and working PCP will hold pressure... for at least a year.

I got mine out a few days ago and it was still filled to 200 bar. I had stored it at 200 bar, a number of years ago, so fired a few shots to check zero.
I refilled it to 200 bar. I should sell it as I don't use it, BUT - maybe I should keep it just because. It is a full power, .25. Just thinking, it was the first
gun I bought from WesB - before covid and hadn't been shot since the year I bought it from him - just sitting in the lockup.
