Air Arms TX200 .22, 495fps.

#1 Post by Danomyte »

Can anyone that owns a Air Arms TX200 .22 cal, 495fps, please tell me which pellets they have found to be the best fit for this rifle?, and is there a break in period for this barrel, where it may take some time for it to be broken in. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum~

I found that in a non PAL decent rifle usually they just shoot everything well...

What do you have in hand or planning to buy to feed that nice rifle?!

Usually we will start with H&N FTT or JSB Exact/Exact Heavy... These are decent pellets~

Break in time is for the spring. Maybe there is some "seasoning" to be done with the barrel but I've never noticed. For diablos I like jsb's. H&N for everything else. Get yourself some quality pellets and do some testing.
I have some airguns.

What weight pellets are you using to get that 495fps. Looking at specs at pyramid air they show max of 755 , probably light weight pellets. I saw using more mid weight pellets, around 16-17 gr in the mid 600fps range.

495 should be the detuned Canadian version. Don't think there is a pellet can drop the full power TX into that ranger~ [emoji38]

I don't have that but in GENERAL, the following are working well in most of .22 cal

1. Crosman Premier Hallow Point 14.3gr (up to 30-50 yds, some gun working well up to 75 yards and good for hunting)
2. H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66gr (up to 75-100 yards)
3. JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo 15.89gr (up to 75-100 yards)
4. JSB Hades 15.89gr (up to 50-75 yards, very good for hunting)
5. Crosman Premier Domed 14.3gr (up to 50-70 yards, some gun also working well up to 100 yards)

The JSB Jumbo 18.1gr is better than listed however it is too heavy for a 495fps. Crosman is the best budget pellet with good performance. My Sig MCX Virtus both Crosman and the hades performs better all other pellets at 30-40 yards, and most of my rifles shoots decent groups at 30-40 yards with Crosman HP --including a Gamo Viper Express Smooth Bore with 1x Red Dot
A Bunch of
495fps Springers/CO2/PCP
PAL Rated plinkers and target rifles
Finally get my PAL after 1 year waiting
