...Daisy Winchester 500x or a Gamo cadet delta? I'm currently debating between the two, and I must admit that I am swaying towards the Daisy. Any way, waddaya guys think is the better gun for plinking and small stuff hunting? On a different subject, today my bro bought a Powerline 880, and it was broke in the package! A large, wide, ugly, chipping crack right where the reciever joins the stock. Stupid PLASTIC reciever. I would appriciate your thoughts on the Daisy vs Gamo issue, it will be my hunting rifle for the next year or two.

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

Go with the gamo delta. Gamo is a little better made and will last you longer. The 500x is ok but hey it's a daisy so you get what you pay for.

i wouldnt just say that the gamo is better made, and lasts longer. i know i may be new to the whole airguning stuff, but it only one persons opinion, i would say both would last the same amount of time, which is a long time, airguns last a looong time, so dont go by which one "is better made" unless there is real proof.

I was shooting with Gamo Delta for one day, it was bought for my friend's 10 years old son. It's certainly NOT for an adult. It feels and looks like a real toy, not too good on accuracy at 50 ft. If you're just a kid, it would be a good airgun, my friend's son enjoy it very much. Home Hardware has a similar gun under a different name.

My father (pretty much mine ;)) has a Winchester 500x, with a Tasco scope. Very very nice stock, plenty powerful, has decent accuracy, and seems very worth it (was $100 from lebarons I belive).

Cant really compare to any other break barrels, as I dont have any...

Its a very sturdy, nice looking gun, with a nice finish on both the metal and wood, that seems like it will last forever (had to have atleast 1000-2000 rounds through it, and looks good as new)

Definately recommended!

Cheers,
Alex

Forget the Winchester 500x and the Gamo Delta.
For inexpensive springer, get the Crosman Quest 500 or Slavia 631/630.
The Quest and Slavias are far superior to both of them.

I do, sparrows, starlings and an attempt at a pidgeon is all so far. I don't get to do it often.
